Sedation Dentistry
What is sedation dentistry?
Our dentists understand that you may feel nervous or anxious about your treatment. To help you feel more comfortable at our office, we provide sedation dentistry. This involves using sedative methods to help you have a more relaxed dental experience at Niles Dental.
What is nitrous oxide?
Nitrous oxide is a form of sedation we provide at our office. Also called laughing gas, nitrous oxide is a gas that you will inhale through a small mask that is placed over your nose. This will help you feel calm and at ease; you may even feel tingly and euphoric. Nitrous oxide is a form of conscious sedation, which means it will not make you unconscious; however, it is normal if you do not remember all of the details of your visit. Nitrous oxide is a very safe form of sedation, and the effects wear off within just a few minutes after we stop the flow of gas and remove your nose mask. You will be able to safely and legally drive yourself home after your appointment.
